How was your Christmas in 2008?

How exactly was your Christmas 2008? Was it everything that you thought it would be? Was the food for the Christmas of 2008 great? Did you get to spend the Christmas of 2008 with your friends and family?

I did. My Christmas in the year 2008 was amazing. We had the normal Christmas meal. We had family come from all over to celebrate Christmas 2008, and we had more presents then we knew what to do with. There was only one thing missing from the Christmas of 2008 and that was the pies. Yes the oh so lovely pies that normally come along with the holidays. For Christmas of 2008 my family decided the pies were to much work. This was rather disappointing as the pies are one of my favorite things about Christmas. So instead we had cakes for the Christmas of 2008. Needless to say everyone was disappointed that there was not pie now for Christmas of 2009 there will be a return of the ever so famous pie.

The Christmas of 2008 was a great Christmas, one of the best my family has had in a long time. People that we hadn’t seen in years came and we all got to gather around share stories, catch up, sing songs, and have a wonderful time. The memories I made the Christmas of 2008 will be memories that are sure not to fade anytime in the near future. Looking back on the Christmas of 2008, aside from the pies, I find myself smiling when i think of what a great Christmas we had. I can only hope that this Christmas will be just as great as the Christmas of 2008 was. It can often times seem like we fall into the habit of Christmas but it is important to get out of that habit and fully get to enjoy the season. It only comes around once a year after all, and we should enjoy it to the fullest.

After all is said and done there isn’t much better than good food, family, presents, music, and hot cocoa. Having all of this in Christmas 2008 definitely gave me something to look forward to for the Christmas of 2009. I am already excited to go get the Christmas decorations I plan to get this year to add to the decorations that I used for Christmas 2008. I am also excited to get the tree up and get in the Christmas spirit for a Christmas that I can only hope to be as good as last year.

Christmas Day is a fun day for almost everyone. One Christmas Day there are gifts and food. Christmas Day is also a day that you get to spend with those who are the closest to you. This many be friends or family. Many people are off on Christmas Day from work as this is a day where nearly all business’s shut down to allow people to spend this time with family.

On Christmas Day schools are also closed. This means that should you want to travel somewhere to spend Christmas Day with family it is more than likely an achievable goal. Many people enjoy Christmas Day because of the fact that you get to give and receive gifts. On Christmas Day many children look forward to Santa Clause. Christmas Day is a day that they wait for all year long. This is a day that many parents anticipate as well. After all there is not much that beats the look on your child’s face when they open their Christmas presents.

Most people spend a lot of time decorating for this very special day. After all it only comes once a year. Though many people decorate a month or more in advance for Christmas day. This is because many people like to get in the Christmas spirit long before the actual day arrives. Origin of Christmas

It was long back at the 4th century where the most celebrating religion was the Pagan religion. Pagans had many festivals to celebrate and enjoy with their men. Catholic Churches started celebrating this lovely festival of Christ’s birth to oppose the rivalry and challenge that Pagans made towards the Christianity’s existence. This is the history of the Christmas celebration. This is how the entire festival came into existence. History speaks that though Jesus Christ was born in spring the official birth date was announced to be December 25 .By celebrating Christmas at December 25 it could head over the Romans who celebrate their Sun God’s birth latter during the year. Christmas Becoming Xmas

As per the Greek language, the name of Christ was Xristos. That is how the Christmas changed to be Christmas, which stayed in the world much longer as it was short and sweet to add in wishes and cards. Children liked Xmas rather than pronouncing the word Christmas. As it was an easier term for even little kids to cheer with the word Xmas. However, this turned out to be very ungrateful when Christians who did not know the Greek language heard the work Xmas for Christmas. Though a lot of them use the word Xmas now, Christian still do not like it to be in that way and they still shout aloud as Christmas.

Santa Claus was none other than St Nicholas who was the pious man of that age. Romans had imprisoned him and they tortured him. Constantine who was once the Roman emperor and later became a Christina released Nicholas. He was very generous and very helping at his time. He loved children and always got them gifts whenever possible. A lot of children loved him and sometimes children would place the wooden shoes by hearth expecting that Santa Claus would pay those gifts for Christmas.
